Qualified Actuarial Consultants - Life

Base Location: London, Bristol, Manchester and Edinburgh plus network of 20 offices nationally.

As a Qualified Actuarial Consultant at KPMG you take a lead delivery role, managing small teams across a wide range of client projects such as IFRS 17 impact assessments and implementations, finance transformations, company mergers and acquisitions, providing advice on capital models or supporting our own Audit colleagues. In this role you will be leading project teams in the delivery of client engagements and providing technical input to a number of projects and drafting reports and presentations.

Current Projects:

  • IFRS 17 impact assessments which have also led to IFRS 17 implementation projects.
  • Provision of actuarial expertise on finance transformation projects.
  • Providing assistance to companies undertaking mergers and acquisitions.
  • Helping companies with their capital models.
  • Provision of actuarial expertise to support our Audit colleagues.

What will you need to do it?

  • Be a fully Qualified Actuary, with experience of working in a Life Actuarial function or life consultancy.
  • The capability to manage concurrent engagements and play a part in shaping and implementing KPMG's tailored solutions.
  • Strong technical and communication skills (both written and oral) and the ability to deal with clients and senior personnel from day one.
  • Strong project and people management skills, and an ability to structure task allocations around critical goals.
  • Strong coaching skills to develop the capabilities of junior team members.

Skills we’d love to see / Amazing Extras:

  • Previous experience gained within a consultancy, but we are open to considering qualified actuaries who come from within industry, but can demonstrate the abilities needed to work supporting senior management efforts to cultivate and maintain target client relationships, including assisting with proposals and the development of sales materials.
