Role Overview

KPMG’s Global Compliance & Transformation (GCT) team focuses on helping multinational groups and financial services clients manage global tax compliance, reporting and statutory accounting obligations through outsourcing, co‑sourcing, transformation and technology. This role is an Assistant Manager in Corporate Tax Compliance, Managed Services.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a portfolio of clients and ensure tax computations are prepared to a high standard, submitted to HMRC within agreed deadlines.
  • Act as main point of contact on day‑to‑day tax matters, working with Managers and Senior Managers.
  • Oversee the work of junior colleagues, providing coaching and technical guidance as part of the review process.
  • Keep clients updated on developments within Corporate Tax relevant to their businesses.
  • Identify and resolve technical issues, working with Managers to prepare technical analysis and involve specialists when needed.
  • Respond to client requests for ad‑hoc technical advice and work with KPMG specialist teams to deliver an excellent service.
  • Build and develop positive constructive relationships within the team and across the client base.
  • Support clients with group reporting needs and assist with tax audit work.
  • Provide coaching, career management and technical support for junior team members.
  • Follow KPMG best practice and policy.

Qualifications & Experience

  • UK Corporation Tax experience, including reviewing computations and returns and acting as a client liaison through the compliance process.
  • Experience/awareness of complex capital versus revenue treatment; pension and share scheme adjustments; group relief; basic transfer pricing; tax accounting for single entities and groups; controlled foreign companies and corporate interest restriction.
  • Ability to analyse problems, identify core issues and demonstrate curiosity for new ideas and approaches.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Personal responsibility and accountability for own work.
  • High level of drive, enthusiasm and positive attitude across the team.
  • Strong teamwork and organisational skills, including monitoring timetables and budgets.
  • Inclusive, collaborative approach and respectful conduct with colleagues, clients and the wider community.
  • Coaching less experienced staff with clear directions and constructive feedback.
  • Qualified CTA or ACA/CA or equivalent.

  • BEPs – Transformation of operating model, processes, systems, data for Pillar two.
  • Managed Services – Compliance services for global clients across tax, accounting, transfer pricing obligations.
  • Technology – Leveraging tools and platforms to transform the tax function.
  • Tax Operating Model – Building and operating a leading tax function, managing risk, reputation and compliance.
  • Data Management – Maximising use of data to manage the Tax Function.
