Overview
To take responsibility for projects technically and creatively with input from Associates or Directors.
Responsibilities
- Managing multiple projects, project teams and budgets.
- Assisting Director team with internal workload planning.
- Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information.
- Assist with the management of internal processes and procedures.
- Produce and manage detailed design work.
- Building relationships with existing and new clients, project managers and contractors.
- Proactive in looking for new project leads with the Director team.
This is a good opportunity for an individual with proven design, specification and delivery skills to join a rapidly growing, ambitious interior design team specialising in high-end projects throughout the UK. You will have a professional, personable approach with a passion for working in the high-end sector and delivering luxury design. You will be a creative designer with a solid background in our sector-specific areas. The preferred candidate is expected to have been involved in all aspects of residential and commercial design, working both collaboratively (with the design team) and independently to meet the client's brief. You will be self-disciplined and organised, being the main point of contact liaising with external parties and architectural teams, often in a client-facing role. You will have a thorough understanding of budget management and timelines inclusive of the building and FF&E procurement process.
Experience
- 8+ years' experience gained working in the UK on varying projects.
- Must have a Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture.
- Design project management of all design stages from concept to completion on site.
- Experience with the RIBA/BIID stages of work.
- Knowledge of Building regulations, BS standard specifications and DDA regulations.
Skills Required
- Proficient use of AutoCAD and proven experience in producing design documentation and technical drawings, including the production of tender pack & detailed joinery drawings, fixed lighting and small power.
- Experience using In-Design, Photoshop, Word and Excel.
- Production of concept presentations, sample boards, mood boards, rendered elevations and co-ordination of 3D visualizations.
- Able to manage and prioritise tasks and time efficiently.
- Self-motivated, proactive and take responsibility for a number of projects.
- Personable & positive approach to managing team members.
- Production of internal programmes.
- Resilient to cope with challenges and conflicts.
- Problem solving on site and throughout the design process.
- Proficient supplier and product knowledge, including FF&E and finishes.
- Proficient in FFE specification including Furniture, fabrics, Lighting, Artwork, accessories and commissioned pieces.
- Excellent knowledge of materials and bespoke fabrication.
- Presentations to clients and stakeholders.
