This Area Maintenance Manager is a multifunction role covering sites within the North East of England. The candidate will report to the Contract Manager. The role involves the supervision and management of a team of mobile engineers, ensuring that all PPM, reactive and quoted works are completed, adhering to the contract specifications and customer SLAs, and providing hands-on engineering support as required.

You will be working closely with the Contract Manager and Customer, ensuring that the business reacts quickly to customer requests, prioritising accordingly. You will cover for the Contract Manager as required and support the operational team within the Newcastle Office to collaborate and streamline processes which directly impact individual contacts and the business.

  • Build and maintain a strong customer relationship.
  • Effectively manage a team of mobile engineers carrying out all aspects of maintenance in accordance with strict KPIs/SLAs and in a safe working environment.
  • Provide timely support to maintain the highest standard of statutory compliance.
  • Ensure compliance with all legislative requirements in accordance with the clients' Environmental Health & Safety policy, quality, sustainability, and energy efficiency related standards.
  • Assist in producing all required documentation to ensure that any incidents are recorded and escalated as per the requirements of the contract, including risk management, operational continuity, and operational equipment status reports.
  • Deliver all specialist engineering services activities and obligations under the Contracts.
  • Plan, deliver, and review all aspects relating to the provision of specialist engineering services carried out by internal engineering staff and subcontractors.
  • Implement operational policies and procedures in line with our contractual obligations.
  • Liaise with all engineers to ensure effective service delivery.
  • Act as the first point of contact for all site issues.
  • Manage the engineer's data and job details in accordance with client requirements to ensure that the Computer Aided Facilities Management System (CAFM) is maintained to a current and accurate status.
  • Compile quotations for customer submission/approval.
  • Assist the Contract Manager in the supervision of contracts, sub-contractors, and specialist providers where required.
  • Manage the day-to-day running of the site teams.

This is a customer-facing role where integrity is absolutely paramount. The ability to interact at all levels and build on strong relationships with the customer and other ENGIE divisions is essential. Promote a 'can do' attitude to ensure positivity within the team and demonstrate a willingness to achieve and deliver both operationally and technically.

Requirements include:

  • Time served fully qualified engineer with a Building Services background able to demonstrate a detailed knowledge of building services in general.
  • Training in, and knowledge of Regulations associated with Electrical/Mechanical/Air Conditioning Systems would be an advantage.
  • Understanding of all relevant legislative and statutory requirements and implementation of safe systems of work.
  • Commercial awareness.
  • Team working experience.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Experience of Planon.
  • IOSH Managing Safely.
