We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Technician to join an established team at a prestige Medical facility in central Leeds. You will work as part of a maintenance team covering a 24/7 service across the static site, covering the day shift from 9am - 5pm. The site was built around twelve years ago and so kit on the site is modern and up-to-date with a lifecycle programme in place to ensure high standards are maintained at all times. As a Mechanical Technician, you will work alongside an electrical engineer to meet all needs of the customer.
Responsibilities:
- Working on all mechanical building plant including: Pipefitting, Pumps, Motors, Steam Traps, Compressors, Steel and Copper pipe work (15ml - 12" including crimped), Condenser units
- Planned preventative maintenance and scheduled lifecycle project work
- Reactive breakdown work
- Working both on the wards (customer facing) and behind the scenes (plant rooms)
- Completing all necessary paperwork associated with the role
- Managing on-site contractors
- Adhering to all Health and Safety policies and procedures
The site has free parking and the client is committed to investing in its employees, as a result training and advancement are part of the culture here. Experience with pipefitting, pumps and motors is a must; however, training can be provided for steam.
Ideal Applicant:
- The ideal applicant will be an experienced mechanical engineer and will ideally have worked in a hospital or large critical site before.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Maintenance experience on commercial properties
- Experience with pipefitting, pumps and motors
- Experience working as part of a team and leading others
- Positive attitude and good customer service
- Willing to learn and interested in becoming an Authorised Person
