We are looking to recruit a Painter onto one of our clients' Healthcare sites in Birmingham. Our client is a large European owned Facilities Maintenance and Construction Company.

Responsibilities:

  • To undertake improvement work, maintenance and repairs to the buildings' paintwork and other areas such as basic plastering.
  • To undertake any reasonable duties to maintain all services to the site.
  • Carry out all works in compliance with the company's KPIs and SLAs.
  • Interpret and work from all instructions, drawings and specifications appropriate to his/her own trade, without supervision.
  • Set up New Work appropriate to his/her own trade using relevant tools, equipment and machinery, without supervision, as appropriate to his/her grade.
  • To maintain workshops and working environment in a clean, tidy and safe condition.
  • Where required, work off tower scaffolding, MEWPs, ladders, and step ladders.
  • To carry out unsupervised maintenance and repairs and report any defects or unusual circumstances to the Charge Hand or Building Manager.
  • Requirement to learn new techniques with training as necessary.
  • Scope of work will include entering Mortuary, ITUs, A&E admissions, Operating Theatres etc after reporting to Trust Staff.
  • Occasional exposure to distressing or emotional circumstances could be encountered.
  • To understand the general working of the Estate, so that work can be carried out in the most efficient manner, pro-active in developing new ways of working.
  • To understand fully the inter-relationship between various maintenance crafts.
  • To be contacted by radio and/or PDA to receive instructions, which can involve frequent disruption to work patterns.
  • To be knowledgeable of and to work to the current regulations, codes of practice, Health & Safety regulations and all safety rules.
  • Produce if necessary, a list of materials to carry out remedial repairs or alterations to current tasks.
  • Ensure all PPM work is carried out effectively in compliance with maintenance instructions.
  • To understand the working of painting systems within the Estate.
  • To deal with new situations as they arise and pass on knowledge to others.
  • To inform immediate Charge Hand or Building Manager of any delays or difficulties encountered.
  • To undertake any other duties as requested by Management, in order to comply with contract KPIs & SLAs.
  • Staff will be employed on work appropriate to their core specialist skill, but will progressively be suitably trained to acquire elements of extra skills with the intention of reaching levels of flexibility and competence.

The Maintenance Painter/Decorator must have a strong background within Painting and Decorating. Ideally City & Guilds Painting & Decorating Part 1 & 2 qualified.

Package:

  • £22,000 - £25,000 p/a
  • 37.5 hours per week Monday - Friday 8am - 4pm
  • Pension
  • 20 days holiday plus 8 bank holidays
