As Senior Product Manager, Fisheries, you will own the Fisheries product end to end, from strategy and roadmap through to first release and go-to-market.
Working closely with the Lead Product Manager – Maritime & Logistics, you will build a new product offering that brings together Kpler's vessel, ownership, port, and trade-flow data to address growing challenges around seafood supply chain transparency and illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing.
Your initial focus will be on building live fleet monitoring and catch and yield reporting , enabling procurement and compliance teams to monitor vessels, understand fishing activity, and access reliable information to support their due-diligence and traceability requirements.
This is a high-impact opportunity to build a new product category from the ground up.
You will work directly with seafood buyers, retailers, processors, certification bodies, regulators, RFMO stakeholders, and NGOs, as well as Product, Engineering, Data, Sales, and Marketing teams, to ensure the product delivers trusted and actionable intelligence.
The role is ideal for an experienced product leader who is comfortable operating in an ambiguous, early-stage environment and has a track record of taking B2B data, analytics, or Saa S products from concept through to customer adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the Fisheries product strategy, vision, and roadmap, defining what gets built and in what order while balancing customer value, commercial opportunity, technical feasibility, and time to market.
- Lead the development and delivery of the first Fisheries product release, focused on live fleet monitoring and subsequently catch and yield reporting that procurement and compliance teams can rely on.
- Lead market and customer discovery with seafood buyers, retailers, processors, certification bodies, regulators, RFMO stakeholders, and NGOs to understand customer needs and translate insights into product direction.
- Define and refine the product proposition and customer experience, ensuring Kpler's data and intelligence are translated into clear, actionable outcomes for customers across the seafood supply chain.
- Establish the vessel identity, dark-behaviour, and catch-estimation methodologies underpinning the product, working with data and domain experts to ensure the outputs are credible, transparent, and trusted.
- Own positioning and competitive strategy, monitoring the existing commercial and NGO-adjacent landscape and clearly defining Kpler's differentiation.
- Lead the go-to-market strategy for the product, working with Sales and Product Marketing on positioning, messaging, packaging, pricing input, launch planning, and early customer adoption.
- Identify and develop strategic partnerships across the seafood supply chain, including data, certification, and distribution partnerships that can strengthen the product and accelerate adoption.
- Act as the key link between Product, Engineering, Data, Sales, and Marketing, creating alignment around product strategy, priorities, launch plans, and customer outcomes.
- Track product performance, customer feedback, delivery progress, and key risks, using evidence and market insight to continuously refine the roadmap and maximise product impact.
Skills and Responsibilities
- 5–7 years of Product Management or senior commercial experience, ideally within maritime data, seafood supply chains, or a related B2B data/Saa S environment.
- Proven track record of owning products end-to-end, from strategy and customer discovery through to delivery, launch, and customer adoption.
- Strong track record of translating complex customer needs into clear product strategy, roadmap priorities, and product requirements, working closely with Product and Engineering teams.
- Strong understanding of the fisheries data landscape, including vessel tracking, IUU risk, catch documentation, and supply chain traceability.
- Experience operating in ambiguous, early-stage environments, with a pragmatic and iterative approach to building, launching, learning, and improving products.
- Strong commercial and go-to-market experience, including product positioning, packaging, pricing input, launch planning, and working closely with Sales and Marketing.
- Strong data and analytical literacy, with the ability to work effectively with data and engineering teams and understand maritime and trade data concepts such as AIS, vessel identity, geospatial analysis, ownership, and flows.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across technical, commercial, regulatory, and NGO audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate clearly with senior external stakeholders.
- Strong ownership mindset and a bias to action, with the confidence to make decisions, navigate uncertainty, and focus on delivering outcomes rather than perfection.
- Nice to have
- Direct experience within the fisheries or seafood sector, particularly procurement, traceability, or certification.
- Experience building and launching a new product line rather than managing an established product.
- An established network across seafood buyers, certification bodies, regulators, or fisheries NGOs.
- Understanding of relevant fisheries regulations, including IUU regulations, US SIMP, or the EU carding system.
