About the Role
As a Senior Long-Term Oil Analyst, you will own Kpler’s strategic multi-decade outlook for crude oil, refined products, and alternative liquid fuels within the evolving global energy system. Bridging macro-economic forecasting and physical trade flows, you will anchor long-term supply, demand, and transition scenarios directly into Kpler’s proprietary cargo-level intelligence. Key Responsibilities
- Lead long-term market research and scenario modeling: Spearhead Kpler's multi-decade (5 to 25+ year) research coverage and fundamental supply, demand, and trade scenarios for crude oil, refined products, NGLs, and low-carbon fuels.
- Analyze structural market drivers and transition pathways: Deliver in-depth research on upstream capital investment, OPEC+ and non-OPEC capacity shifts, refinery configuration trends, transport electrification, and evolving environmental policies.
- Anchor macro projections in granular trade flows: Leverage Kpler’s proprietary cargo-level tracking to translate multi-decade macro perspectives into actionable implications for regional balances, trade routes, refining margins, and midstream infrastructure.
- Author authoritative research publications: Produce regular, high-impact outlook publications, strategic research notes, and thematic market commentary under Kpler’s Insights banner, clearly framing key assumptions and structural uncertainties.
- Synthesize cross-commodity dynamics: Collaborate with Kpler’s Gas, LNG, and Power research analysts to ensure cohesive, system-wide market assumptions, while benchmarking models against international agencies such as the IEA, EIA, and OPEC.
- Serve as a trusted market authority: Represent Kpler’s research in executive client briefings, commercial advisory sessions, industry webinars, and specialist media engagements.
