The Data Analyst serves as a key player in understanding, analysing, and transforming data to enhance Kpler’s analytical output and product offerings in the maritime industry. This role combines data expertise with industry knowledge to align data solutions with market needs, boosting data quality and relevance in apps and maritime‑related content. They participate in every stage of the data lifecycle - evaluation, collection, handling, visualization, and interpretation—with a focus on impactful, decision‑supporting insights.
Your Mission Is to:
- Perform daily checks, organize, cleanse, validate, and manage data from various sources on Kpler platform to ensure its reliability and accuracy.
- Continuously monitor data quality and suggest KPI improvements.
- Research, collect, and process vessel, company, and metadata to enhance our product value.
- Build dashboards for clients to visualise market movement, trends, and performance.
- Apply analytical methods to ensure accurate, error‑free data presentation, and contribute to process improvements for data maintenance and visualisation.
- Identify technology and process improvements to automate routine tasks.
- Respond to ad‑hoc requests from clients relating to data and analysis, gathering feedback.
- Build market expertise in all things relating to maritime and ship‑tracking data.
It Will Be a Match If You Are Or Have:
- Strong understanding of the maritime industry and maritime data, developed through previous professional experience and/or academic study.
- Analytical thinker with a demonstrated curiosity for learning and applying new technologies to extract value from data.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work well in a global team environment, focusing on collaboration and adapting to the needs of a diverse team.
Nice to Have
- Experience using SQL and Python to work with large, disparate and/or unstructured data sets.
- Experience working with data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI or similar).
