We’re looking for a Project Manager to join a long-established precision engineering business in Stockport. This is a role suited to someone with project management experience and a CNC machining background, as you will be managing high-value manufacturing projects from launch through to delivery.
What’s on offer?
- £55,000 – £59,000 p/a
- Mon - Fri | typically 8am – 6pm
- Office-based role with no remote working
- Annual group profit-share bonus (dependant on company performance)

What will you be doing as a Project Manager?
- Managing around 10–11 manufacturing projects of varying sizes
- Leading manufacturing work packages with responsibility for cost, timescales and quality
- Creating work plans using ERP systems and Microsoft Project
- Turning programme requirements into clear manufacturing plans
- Managing budgets, machining hours, projected profit and fixed-cost programmes
- Keeping projects within the agreed quotation, budget and delivery schedule
- Coordinating material availability and resolving production issues
- Aligning project requirements with production and estimating teams
- Managing delivery requirements, quality standards and document packs
- Producing accurate project reports, including four-box and five-box reporting
- Supporting project risk, opportunity and budget planning
- Supporting tendering and bidding activity for future contracts
What will you need?
- A recognised project management qualification
- Around 3–4 years’ project management experience, ideally within engineering or production
- CNC machining industry experience
- Ability to understand engineering drawings and tolerances
- Experience delivering fixed-cost programmes within a matrix organisation
- Experience managing project budgets, schedules, costs and quality
- Familiarity with project management tools and methods
