We're hiring for an Electrical Design Engineer to join a specialist engineering manufacturer based in Stockport. In this role you'll work closely with production, sales, and documentation teams, supporting projects from concept through to completion.

What will you be doing as an Electrical Design Engineer?

  • Designing and developing electrical systems to meet customer and project specifications
  • Reviewing and interpreting client technical standards and documentation
  • Producing and maintaining 2D CAD drawings and datasheets
  • Approving technical quotations and supporting tender packages
  • Supporting production and procurement teams during manufacturing
  • Assisting the sales and documentation teams with technical queries
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities and driving continuous improvement across projects
  • Ensuring all electrical design work complies with relevant standards and directives (BS 7671, ATEX, IEC)

What do you need?

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering (or similar)
  • Previous experience in an electrical design or engineering role
  • Experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
  • Understanding of electrical schematics, LV systems, control panels, and instrumentation
  • Knowledge of ATEX / IECEx standards and electrical safety compliance
