Overview

We\’re hiring for a Press Brake Programmer to join a longstanding fabrication company based in Hyde. This is a hands-on role working on a variety of bespoke products, primarily operating a Press brake with the option to grow your skills within fabrication and welding of sheet metal.

What’s on offer

  • Β£15.50 – Β£17.50 per hour
  • Mon – Fri | 7:30am – 4:45pm
  • Early finish on Thursdays and Fridays
  • Standard holiday entitlement + bank holidays
  • Overtime available (paid at an enhanced rate)

  • Opportunity to be trained up and developed further within sheet metal fabrication

What will you be doing as a Press Brake Programmer?

  • Setting, programming and operating brake press, guillotine and laser machines
  • Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
  • Cutting and bending metal components (mild and stainless steel)
  • Inspecting parts and ensuring components meet required tolerances
  • Minimising wastage and reporting material shortages
  • Ability to assist with fabrication i.e. TIG tack welding and basic fabrication duties

What do you need?

  • Time-served background in sheet metal work
  • Experience setting and operating an Amada Press Brake
  • Experience welding TIG (desirable)
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings
  • Polishing, metal finishing and MIG welding skills (desirable)
