We’re looking for a Welding Supervisor to join a growing fabrication business in Oldham. This is a role suited to someone with MIG and MMA welding experience, as you will be splitting your time between hands-on welding and overseeing a small welding team.
What’s on offer?
- £50,000 - £60,000 p/a | Permanent position
- Mon – Thu | 8:30am – 4:30pm
- Fri | 8:30am – 3:30pm

What will you be doing as a Welding Supervisor?
- Splitting your time between hands-on welding and supervising a small welding team
- Carrying out MIG and MMA welding on carbon steel pipework when required
- Working to BS 2971 Class 2 standards
- Setting out work, prioritising jobs and checking progress across the welding area
- Supporting production and planning meetings
- Overseeing SQCDP, 5S, housekeeping, quality, health and safety responsibilities
- Reading and working from drawings
- Carrying out dye penetrant inspections and checking welded work for quality issues
- Leading morning toolbox talks
- Supporting apprentice training, appraisals and KPIs
- Helping the team adapt as the welding area grows
What will you need?
- Proven MIG welding experience
- Competency with MMA welding
- Experience in fabrication and welding
- Experience supervising welders
- Ability to weld carbon steel pipework
- Ability to read drawings
- Knowledge of BS 2971 Class 2 standards
- Experience with dye penetrant inspection
