We’re hiring for an experienced Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a precision engineering company specialising in the manufacture of high-quality gears and machine components in Stockport.

What will you be doing as a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer?

  • Responding quickly to machine breakdowns across the production facility
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) checks
  • Fault-finding on mechanical and basic electrical systems
  • Working closely with production teams to minimise downtime
  • Completing maintenance paperwork and PPM sheets
  • Identifying recurring faults and implementing corrective actions
  • Supporting continuous improvement and 5S activities
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised workshop

What will you need?

  • NVQ, City & Guilds or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering
  • Time-served Mechanical Maintenance Engineer background
  • Previous manufacturing or industrial maintenance experience
  • Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
  • Basic electrical maintenance knowledge
  • A proactive and self-motivated approach
