We’re hiring for a Mechanical Site Fitter to join a mechanical engineering business based in Stretford, Manchester. In this role, you’ll be working on sites predominantly based around the North West and Yorkshire to remove, install, repair and refurbish mechanical equipment, with some workshop-based work also required.

What’s on offer?

  • Permanent role | £17.50 - £18.50 p/h
  • Overtime paid at x1.4 (x1.5 at weekends)
  • Mon - Fri | 7:30am – 4pm
  • Company van, phone and tablet provided
  • 22 days holiday plus bank holidays
  • Some working away, which is paid for
  • Training provided for crane lifts

What will you be doing as a Mechanical Site Fitter?

  • Carrying out RAMS and risk assessments
  • Removing and installing mechanical equipment
  • Repairing and refurbishing industrial gearboxes and mechanical plant equipment
  • Stripping and reassembling flanges, linkages and water authority equipment
  • Working in pairs on site and supporting workshop activity when required
  • Speaking with project engineers and planning upcoming work
  • Taking your own hand tools, with other tools provided
  • Bringing equipment back to the workshop if it cannot be repaired on site

What will you need?

  • Mechanical engineering experience (3 years minimum)
  • Site experience
  • Some of your own hand tools
  • Ability to work safely on site
  • Confidence working with mechanical plant, equipment and components
  • Ability to communicate with project engineers and other team members
