We’re hiring for a Mechanical Fitter to join a mechanical engineering business based in Stretford, Manchester. In this role, you’ll be working on mechanical equipment, supporting repair, refurbishment and installation work across the workshop and site-based projects.
What’s on offer?
- Permanent position | £15 - £18 p/h
- Mon - Fri | 7:30am – 4pm
- Early finish on Fridays
- 22 days holiday plus bank holidays
- Holiday allowance increasing up to 25 days

What will you be doing as a Mechanical Fitter?
- Using hand tools to carry out mechanical fitting work
- Stripping and reassembling flanges, linkages and water authority equipment
- Working on hydraulic presses
- Carrying out pre-installation checks
- Speaking with project engineers
- Supporting bench work when required
- Handling mainly heavy mechanical equipment
- Using overhead cranes when needed
- Working with your own hand tools
