We’re hiring for a Final Assembly Vehicle Fitter to join a leading engineering manufacturer in Stockport. This is a hands-on role suited to someone with a strong mechanical fitting or vehicle assembly background who enjoys working from drawings, solving problems, and being part of a high-quality manufacturing environment.

  • Mon – Thu | 7am – 3:30pm (early finish on Fridays)

What will you be doing as a Final Assembly Fitter?

  • Assembling and fitting military vehicles and mechanical components
  • Working from engineering drawings and work instructions
  • Using hand and power tools to complete final assembly tasks
  • Inspecting completed work to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Supporting testing and problem-solving during the build process
  • Working safely and following manufacturing procedures at all times
  • Collaborating with production and engineering teams to meet deadlines

What will you need?

  • Previous experience in vehicle assembly, mechanical fitting, or HGV fitting
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • Recognised apprenticeship in mechanical engineering or similar discipline
  • Strong attention to detail and quality standards
  • Previous manufacturing experience
  • Any experience with hydraulics and pneumatics is beneficial
