Engineering Team Leader

We’re hiring for an Engineering Team Leader to oversee maintenance operations at a leading industrial manufacturer in Glossop. This hands-on leadership role involves managing a team of Mechanical Fitters, ensuring the safe operation of the site, and maintaining high engineering standards. What’s on offer? * £40,000 – £45,000 per year * Monday – Friday 8:00pm – 4:00pm * 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) * Company pension scheme * Ongoing training in engineering certifications to support career progression What will you be doing as an Engineering Team Leader? * Managing engineering operations, including maintenance scheduling, process tracking, and efficiency improvements * Setting and enforcing safety, quality, and compliance standards * Overseeing equipment maintenance and site projects, implementing PPM systems, addressing breakdowns, and ensuring projects stay within budget * Monitoring and optimising costs, reviewing energy, materials, and labour to improve efficiency * Maintaining staffing levels and team development, assessing performance, identifying training needs, and ensuring operational efficiency * Building strong supplier and stakeholder relationships, negotiating contracts and maintaining smooth operations * Ensuring effective communication across all business levels * Selecting and maintaining site equipment What do you need? * Experience leading a team in a maintenance or engineering environment * Hands-on experience in mechanical fitting, maintenance, and repairs * Strong knowledge of pipework installation, pumps, and industrial machinery * Ability to read and interpret technical drawings * Relevant mechanical engineering qualifications (or time-served experience) Apply today or speak with Adam at KPJ Group for more information between 9:00am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday.
