Job Description
We’re hiring for a Product Design Engineer to join the in-house design team at a Macclesfield based business specialising in the creation of innovative retail products. This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative and hands-on designer to work across the full lifecycle of retail design projects – from concept development to production-ready drawings.

What will you be doing as a Product Design Engineer?
- Designing products and components for retail environments using SolidWorks
- Creating concept sketches, 3D models, realistic renders, and production drawings
- Supporting prototype builds and product testing
- Preparing engineering documentation and artwork for manufacture
- Taking ownership of design projects, ensuring smooth handovers to production
- Building client-facing presentations and supporting sales activity
- Staying up to date with trends in retail and POS design
What do you need?
- SolidWorks proficiency – assemblies, engineering drawings, rendering
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and production constraints
- Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator)
- Experience in a similar design, engineering, or manufacturing role (1+ year ideal, but strong graduates considered)
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage time across multiple projects
