We're looking for a CNC Applications Engineer to join a CNC machinery business in Milton Keynes. This role is suited to someone with proven CNC machining experience, as you will be taking components from CAD model or drawing through to programming, machining and finished production.

Responsibilities

  • Assessing drawings and CAD models to determine the best machining approach
  • Taking components through programming, machine setup and finished production
  • Completing feasibility studies, sample machining and proof-of-concept work
  • Demonstrating 3-axis and 5-axis CNC machine capabilities
  • Advising on tooling, cutting strategies, workholding and process improvements
  • Troubleshooting machining issues and recommending corrective action
  • Providing technical guidance and machine training to customers
  • Working with machine, tooling and software suppliers to develop manufacturing solutions
  • Producing demonstration parts and application examples

Qualifications

  • Proven CNC machining experience
  • Ability to take a component from CAD model or drawing through to finished part
  • Strong CNC programming, machine setup, tooling and machining knowledge
  • Experience working directly with customers in a technical or applications environment
  • Ability to communicate with customers, sales teams, suppliers and internal departments
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites and Germany when required
