Responsibilities
- Creation of standard work, process design, establishing standard times for direct labor, line balancing and operator requirement on the shop floor.
- Provide daily support for production operations while owning responsibility for maintaining a safe and ergonomic assembly environment.
- Establish routings, methods, layouts, tools, costs, quality plans and labor standards for revisions to current operations.
- Lead projects of varying scopes related to change management, capital equipment acquisitions, layout changes, or product updates.
- Develop and maintain the department line balance and layout following the Line Balance as a Process and Flow Line Design guidelines.
- Support the Continuous Improvement process by identifying innovative solutions for safety, ergonomic, quality, cost reduction, and efficiency improvements.
- Actively support operator certification by ensuring training rigor and evaluating proficiency against engineered standards.
- Engagement in Daily Management system.
- Collaborate with members of the Customer team to identify gaps to achieve area metrics.
- Execute Continuous Improvement activities related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, & Productivity.
- Engage with safety dept, maintenance, tool room, or external vendors to support improvements.
- Follow up on implemented solutions to confirm effectiveness.
- Participate in kaizen events related to Customer Product as identified.
- Provide Assembly Engineer support in various stages of Build along with shop floor co-ordination.
- Co-ordination for Engineering Change Management (ECO) and implementation support, updating times and line balancing for new take rates.
- Ensure closure of Line Quality Issues by coordinating with Customer Team.
Education Required
- BS/MS in Industrial/Manufacturing/Mechanical Engineering.
