We are currently recruiting on behalf of a leading UK manufacturing business for an experienced Maintenance Engineer - Electrically Biased to join their Worksop facility. This is a hands-on engineering role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment, providing essential breakdown and preventative maintenance support across a varied range of production machinery.

The Role

Working on a rotating 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm shift pattern, you will be responsible for maintaining equipment, responding to breakdowns and identifying opportunities to improve reliability, productivity and safety. You will be working across both electrical and mechanical systems, with a strong emphasis on electrical fault-finding and diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance and respond quickly to breakdowns.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults using a structured approach.
  • Fault-find on electrical systems from 415V through to 24VDC.
  • Read and interpret electrical and mechanical drawings.
  • Work with inverters, servo drives and DC drives.
  • Diagnose and maintain pneumatic systems.
  • Complete risk assessments and ensure machinery is safely returned to production.
  • Support operator training and competence assessments.
  • Identify and implement improvements to machinery and manufacturing processes.
  • Help improve equipment reliability, efficiency and productivity.
  • Maintain a strong focus on health, safety and engineering standards.

What We're Looking For

The successful candidate will ideally be apprentice-trained with a strong electrical bias and previous experience within a manufacturing or factory environment. Essential experience includes:

  • Strong electrical engineering and fault-finding capability.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings.
  • Experience working with 415V-24VDC systems.
  • Experience with inverters, servo and DC drives.
  • Good understanding of pneumatics.
  • Ability to interpret mechanical drawings.
  • Previous manufacturing/factory maintenance experience.
  • Working knowledge of injection moulding machinery - essential.

Qualifications

  • HNC/HND or equivalent in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
  • NVQ Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualification.
  • Apprentice-trained engineering background preferred.
