We’re currently recruiting for an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and customer-focused individual to join a friendly team in an Internal Sales role. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to build a long-term career in sales, with a clear development pathway into a Technical Sales position. You’ll receive the support and training needed to develop your product knowledge, commercial skills and technical understanding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle inbound customer enquiries via phone and email
  • Prepare accurate quotations and proactively follow up enquiries to convert them into orders
  • Resolve customer queries and issues quickly and professionally
  • Identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date CRM records
  • Create stock codes, calculate pricing and manage discount structures
  • Communicate delivery expectations and manage order fulfilment
  • Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships through excellent service
  • Prepare marketing materials and support promotional activities
  • Take card payments and process customer returns in line with company procedures
  • Develop strong product knowledge with a view to progressing into a Technical Sales role

About You

We’re looking for someone who is driven, organised and keen to develop their career. Previous internal sales experience would be beneficial, but we’re also keen to hear from candidates with strong customer service or commercial experience who have the right attitude and aptitude to learn.

You’ll ideally have:

  • An excellent telephone manner and confidence when dealing with customers
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organisation skills and the ability to prioritise effectively
  • A proactive, positive attitude and genuine ambition to progress
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Office
  • An interest in, or aptitude for, technical products and their applications
  • A genuine desire to develop into a technical or engineering sales role
  • A full UK driving licence
