KPI Recruiting are working with a well-established organisation in Hattersley to recruit a confident and customer-focused Trade Counter Sales Advisor.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with sales and customer service experience to join a busy trade environment, supporting customers at the counter while also handling online sales and enquiries.
Ideally, you will have a background in heating, plumbing, or a related trade, although this is not essential. Full product knowledge can be developed for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve customers at the trade counter in a friendly and professional manner.
- Process sales and provide customers with accurate product information and advice.
- Handle online sales, orders and customer enquiries.
- Respond to telephone, email and in-person enquiries.
- Build strong relationships with new and existing customers.
- Identify customer requirements and recommend suitable products.
- Prepare and process customer orders accurately.
- Provide quotations and follow up on sales opportunities.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding product availability, pricing and lead times.
- Assist with stock checks and ensure the trade counter is kept organised.
- Process payments and maintain accurate sales records.
- Deal with customer queries and resolve any issues promptly.
- Work closely with the warehouse and wider sales team to ensure orders are fulfilled efficiently.
- Maintain up-to-date product knowledge and keep informed of new products and promotions.
- Support the smooth day-to-day running of the trade counter.
Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a trade counter, sales or customer service role.
- Heating, plumbing or building supplies experience would be advantageous but is not essential.
- Confident dealing with customers face-to-face, over the phone and online.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Good computer skills and confidence using online sales systems.
- Excellent attention to detail when processing orders and sales.
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
- Commercially aware with the ability to identify sales opportunities.
