PURCHASING MANAGER WIGAN CGBP55K DOE PERMANENT, FULL TIME

My client is a well-established Manufacturing Business in the Wigan area, who have been successful in their field for many years. They have an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Manager to join their team.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive End-to-End Sourcing & Purchasing Strategies: Lead the development and execution of streamlined sourcing, purchasing, and inventory management processes to optimize supply chain efficiency.
  • Achieve Significant Cost Savings: Spearhead supplier contract reviews and renegotiations to deliver substantial annual savings of GBP500,000 to GBP1 million.
  • Revolutionize Inventory Systems: Implement and oversee the transition to a fully integrated, real-time stock management system, ensuring accuracy and improved workflow.
  • Collaborate with Leadership: Actively participate in the Management Team, offering insights and solutions to address company-wide challenges and drive business growth.
  • Lead & Develop a High-Performing Team: Manage and mentor a dedicated purchasing team, fostering growth and ensuring team members excel in their roles.
  • Champion New Product Development: Take a leadership role in supply management during new product initiatives, ensuring seamless coordination and supply chain readiness.
  • Expand Supplier Relationships: Negotiate and develop comprehensive contracts to broaden the scope of existing supplier relationships, particularly for critical single-source contracts.
  • Identify & Develop Supplier Networks: Identify and build relationships with potential suppliers, contributing to long-term growth and operational efficiency.
