Noon Shift, Monday to Friday – no weekends!
We are looking for a proactive and driven
Production Team Leader
to join our clients dynamic manufacturing facility in Newcastle-under-Lyme. As a Team Leader, you will be responsible for the safety, wellbeing and performance of your team, ensuring that all production targets are met and high-quality standards are maintained throughout the shift. You will also oversee key aspects of team development, efficiency improvements, and compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Key Responsibilities: Team Management & Safety : Monitor team members to ensure safe working practices, adherence to policies and procedures, and the achievement of production targets Maintain a safe and productive work environment, addressing any issues with equipment or safety procedures promptly Production & Quality Control : Ensure production targets are met and quality standards are upheld, with a focus on minimising waste and addressing quality control issues Ensure that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) are followed Oversee the quality, quantity, and specifications of products leaving the department Continuous Improvement : Work with the team to identify opportunities for improving efficiency, reducing waste, and enhancing production processes Promote a culture of continuous improvement to increase output and quality Communication & Team Engagement : Act as an intermediary between team members and management, ensuring clear and open communication Lead regular team briefings to keep staff informed and motivated Drive employee engagement and foster a positive and productive team culture Staffing & Training : Assist in the recruitment process to ensure new team members are hired in a legally compliant manner Ensure all team members are adequately trained and up to date with legal and compliance training requirements Manage staffing levels, ensuring adequate coverage for holidays and sickness Performance Management & Compliance : Handle performance issues, using informal and formal disciplinary procedures when required Ensure all Return-to-Work Interviews are conducted for team members returning after absence Report non-conformances, breaches of legislation, and other issues outside your immediate responsibility Leadership & Motivation : Maintain a well-motivated and high-performing team by encouraging development and engagement Lead by example, promoting respect and ethical behaviour in all interactions with team members, colleagues, and external parties Essential Skills & Experience: Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within a production or manufacturing environment (ideally food manufacturing experience) Strong understanding of health and safety standards, quality control, and production processes Excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate and engage a team Ability to manage performance and address issues effectively A proactive approach to continuous improvement and efficiency enhancements Strong organisational and time management skills Please note that due to the high volume of applications we receive, only those successfully shortlisted for the role will be personally contacted Interested?
