We are seeking a proactive and experienced Multi‑Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join a fast‑paced FMCG manufacturing facility. The role is responsible for delivering site‑wide maintenance support, ensuring minimal downtime, and maintaining compliance with health and safety standards.
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across a wide range of equipment
- Respond to breakdowns quickly and effectively to minimise production downtime
- Support site engineering projects, upgrades, and continuous improvement activities
- Maintain and repair electrical and mechanical systems across the production site
- Work closely with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve technical issues
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with site health, safety, and hygiene standards
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and shift handovers
Skills & Experience
- Time‑served engineer with a recognised mechanical and/or electrical engineering qualification (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
- Proven experience in a food, FMCG, or similar fast‑paced manufacturing environment
- Strong fault‑finding skills across mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
- Ability to work independently on nights and manage priorities efficiently
- Excellent understanding of health and safety practices in a manufacturing setting
- Available to start at short notice and commit to the full 3‑month contract
- Experience with PLC fault finding (Siemens, Allen Bradley, etc.)
- Knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards
