We're working with a growing Solar & Renewables business that is looking to appoint an experienced Electrical Qualifying Supervisor to support the continued development of its new renewable energy division. This is a key technical position within the business, responsible for providing electrical governance, compliance oversight and accreditation support across solar PV, battery storage and associated renewable technologies. The successful candidate will act as the company's nominated Electrical Qualifying Supervisor, ensuring installations meet the required standards of safety, quality and regulatory compliance.
The Role:
- Act as the nominated Electrical Qualifying Supervisor, subject to relevant accreditation requirements
- Provide technical oversight across solar PV, battery storage and renewable installations
- Ensure electrical works comply with BS 7671, MCS and relevant NICEIC/NAPIT standards
- Oversee inspection, testing, commissioning and certification
- Review Electrical Installation Certificates, test documentation and quality records
- Lead technical audits and support accreditation assessments
- Manage non-conformances and corrective actions
- Provide technical guidance to employees and subcontractors
- Develop and maintain electrical compliance procedures and technical standards
- Monitor workmanship, documentation and installation quality
- Support workforce competence and technical authorisation
- Assess subcontractors from a technical compliance perspective
- Provide guidance on complex installation and commissioning issues
- Support G98/G99, DNO processes and export limitation requirements
- Identify recurring technical issues and implement improvements
- Ensure electrical safety procedures are consistently followed
- Act as the technical point of contact for certification bodies and external auditors
About You:
We're looking for an experienced electrical professional who combines strong technical knowledge with the ability to provide practical guidance across a growing installation operation. You'll ideally have:
- Significant experience as a qualified electrician
- Strong inspection, testing and certification experience
- Previous Electrical Qualifying Supervisor / QS experience
- Experience within solar PV, battery storage or renewable energy
- Strong knowledge of BS 7671 and UK electrical regulations
- Experience with electrical audits, compliance and technical reviews
- Experience working with NICEIC, NAPIT and/or MCS accredited organisations
- Knowledge of G98/G99 applications
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- A practical, hands‑on approach to technical problem solving
