A high volume manufacturer in Wigan is seeking a Maintenance Engineer (mechanical or electrical bias) to minimise plant downtime, assist with projects and implement PPM/Continuous improvement across their brand new, state of the art facility.
Reporting to the newly appointed Senior Engineer, this position offers training and development from day one. This is a new position within a new site providing tonnes of future opportunities.
Responsibilities after training
- Carry out planned and reactive repairs to a variety of equipment and mechanical systems
- Carry out planned maintenance activities
- Minimise downtime and contribute to the achievement of production targets
- Supervise outside contractors/service engineers and tradesmen as required
- Manage small projects such as equipment installation or staff training
- Develop and implement process improvements
- Electrical fault finding/repair on sensors, motors, panels, drives, etc.
About You
- Experience Engineer from a high-volume, continuous production environment
- Ideally possess an electrical qualification and fault-finding experience, although this is not essential
- Happy to work independently or as part of a team; this is a great opportunity to put your own stamp on the department and lead from the front
