English Graduate Tutor
Location: WF1
Salary: £24,000 - £28,000 per annum, dependent on experience
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Start Date: Immediate - September 2026
We are recruiting for an English Graduate Tutor to join a college setting in the WF1 area, supporting students aged 16+, including A-Level learners.
This is an excellent opportunity for an English graduate or graduate from a related field looking to develop their career within education and gain valuable Further Education experience.
The Role
You will work alongside experienced teaching staff to provide academic support to post-16 students.
Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting 16+ and A-Level English students through one-to-one and small-group sessions
- Supporting English Language and/or Literature
- Helping students develop their analytical and written skills
- Supporting revision and examination preparation
- Reinforcing classroom learning and identifying areas for additional support
- Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teaching staff
- Assisting with learning and revision resources
About You
You must have:
- A 2:1 degree or above in English or a related field - essential
- Strong subject knowledge suitable for A-Level
- Confidence working with students aged 16+
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
- A proactive, organised and adaptable approach
Previous teaching, tutoring or college experience is advantageous but not essential.
