The Opportunity
We are currently recruiting for a Production Operator to join a well-established manufacturing business in Staffordshire. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous production or factory experience who is looking to develop their skills within a supportive and safety-focused environment. This is a varied, hands-on role working across different areas of the manufacturing process. Full training will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for someone who is reliable, eager to learn and enjoys working as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate production machinery and equipment in line with company procedures
- Follow all health, safety and quality standards at all times
- Complete production documentation accurately, including process records and quality paperwork
- Carry out machine set-ups and product changeovers
- Take product samples and perform basic quality control checks
- Minimise product waste by following good manufacturing practices
- Maintain high housekeeping standards using a clean-as-you-go approach
- Complete structured shift handovers, ensuring accurate communication between teams
- Report maintenance issues, defects and improvement opportunities promptly
- Assist with opening and locking the site when required, depending on shift
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to ensure production targets are achieved safely and efficiently
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience working within a production, manufacturing or factory environment
- Comfortable carrying out manual handling and physical tasks
- Ability to follow standard operating procedures and accurately complete paperwork
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Flexible to work a rotating three-shift pattern and provide holiday cover when required
- Full UK driving licence
- A Counterbalance Forklift Truck licence would be advantageous, although not essential
