We are supporting a highly regarded specialist SEN school seeking an enthusiastic and compassionate SEND Teacher to join their team from September 2026. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a well-established provision supporting children and young people with a range of complex learning needs, including Autism, Severe Learning Difficulties (SLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), physical disabilities, communication needs and complex medical conditions. The Role

You will lead a small class of pupils with complex additional needs, delivering highly personalised learning programmes designed around each learner's EHCP outcomes, communication profile and developmental needs. Working alongside a highly experienced multidisciplinary team, you will play a key role in creating engaging learning opportunities that support communication, independence, social development, emotional wellbeing and life skills.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering creative, engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs
  • Supporting pupils with Autism, PMLD, SLD, sensory processing differences and complex medical needs
  • Working collaboratively with Speech & Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists and wider professionals
  • Using a range of communication strategies including AAC, Makaton, sensory-based learning and intensive interaction approaches
  • Contributing to EHCP reviews, annual reviews and target setting
  • Monitoring and recording pupil progress through personalised assessment frameworks
  • Creating a safe, structured and positive learning environment that enables pupils to thrive
  • Building strong relationships with parents, carers and external professionals
  • Supporting pupils with personal care, mobility and health needs where required

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
  • A passion for supporting children and young people with SEND
  • Strong classroom management and differentiation skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
  • A patient, adaptable and nurturing approach to teaching
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • A commitment to inclusive, person-centred and child-focused education
  • Experience working within a specialist SEND setting is desirable but not essential
