KPi Education is working in partnership with a specialist provision in Acton to recruit a Primary Therapeutic Education Practitioner (TEP). This role is ideal for someone who understands that education goes beyond the classroom and is committed to supporting pupils both academically and emotionally.
About the Role – Primary TEPAs a Therapeutic Education Practitioner, you will work closely with teaching and therapeutic staff to support pupils with EHCPs and social care plans, ensuring they feel safe, supported, and able to engage with learning. Your role will include:
- Supporting the class teacher in delivering lessons and educational activities aligned to pupils' EHCP targets
- Planning and delivering creative, engaging, and therapeutic learning activities
- Supporting literacy and numeracy through imaginative, cross-curricular approaches
- Working holistically with pupils to develop resilience, self-esteem, and emotional regulation
- Supporting behaviour management using therapeutically informed strategies
- Providing 1:1 and small-group interventions
- Supporting home–school liaison around attendance, behaviour, and academic progress
- Contributing to risk assessments, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing at all times
- Preparing reports and maintaining accurate records of pupil progress
This role may also involve supporting pupils during transitions or outreach-based learning, always ensuring safeguarding and pupil welfare are prioritised.

Person SpecificationTo be considered, you should have:
- A degree or relevant qualification in Education, Psychology, Youth Work, Social Care, or a related field
- At least 1 year's experience working with primary-aged pupils in an educational or therapeutic setting
- Experience supporting pupils with ASC, SEMH, or additional needs
- A strong understanding of behaviour management and child development
- A calm, reflective, and child-centred approach
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
- Physical intervention / behaviour support training
- Experience working within EHCP frameworks
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum
