A specialist civil engineering contractor is seeking an Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to support the commercial delivery of a variety of civil engineering projects across the UK. The company delivers technically challenging infrastructure works for both public and private sector clients and offers a supportive environment for commercial development.
This role is ideal for an Intermediate QS looking to build on existing experience, working closely with senior surveyors and project teams while gaining a deeper understanding of civil engineering and NEC contracts. Professional development, including support towards RICS chartership, is actively supported.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage aspects of commercial and contractual administration of projects, from pre-contract to final account.
- Prepare valuations, applications for payment, and variation submissions.
- Support cost control, forecasting, and cash flow reporting.
- Assist with subcontract procurement, tender analysis, and contract comparisons.
- Help manage subcontractor accounts, payments, and variations.
- Support identification and management of commercial risk.
- Collaborate with site and project teams to ensure accurate cost capture and reporting.
- Previous experience as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or construction.
- Exposure to civil engineering or infrastructure projects.
- Strong commercial awareness and a proactive, learning-focused approach.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or related discipline.
- Interest in working towards RICS chartership.
- Full support towards RICS chartership, including mentoring and structured development.
