About the Role

You’ll be delivering engaging and accessible English lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (and potentially Key Stage 5). This role requires a flexible and creative approach, adapting lessons to suit a wide range of learning needs. You’ll be working with students who benefit from a more personalised and supportive teaching style, so patience, empathy, and adaptability are essential.

About You

  • We’re looking for someone who brings both experience and the right mindset:
  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Experience teaching English at secondary level
  • Strong knowledge of the English curriculum (Language and/or Literature)
  • GCSEs and A-Levels in English (or equivalent)
  • Experience working with students with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
  • A patient, adaptable, and encouraging teaching style
  • Strong classroom management and communication skills

Bonus Points (Optional)

  • Experience in specialist or alternative provision settings
  • Knowledge of differentiated and personalised learning strategies
  • Understanding of trauma-informed or therapeutic approaches
