Are you a Psychology Graduate from a Russell Group university looking to gain valuable school experience with the aim of progressing into teacher training next academic year?
We are currently recruiting for a Psychology Graduate Teaching Assistant to join a supportive secondary school in East London, SE14.
This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate looking to gain practical classroom experience and build a strong foundation before progressing onto teacher training in the next academic year.
The role:
- Supporting students across the secondary school
- Providing 1:1 and small-group support
- Assisting teachers within the classroom
- Supporting students with additional learning needs
- Helping students develop confidence, independence and engagement
- Working alongside teachers and the SEN team
- Supporting behaviour and classroom management
- Gaining valuable experience in preparation for teacher training
The ideal candidate:
- Psychology degree from a Russell Group university
- 2:1 or above
- Passionate about education and working with young people
- Confident, patient and approachable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Looking to progress into teacher training next academic year
- Previous experience working with children or young people is desirable but not essential
DBS required - applicants without a DBS can be supported through the process.
This role provides an excellent pathway into teacher training, allowing you to gain hands-on secondary school experience, develop classroom skills and work alongside experienced teaching professionals before starting your teacher training next academic year.
