We are currently recruiting for an experienced Nursery Chef to work within a nursery setting in Edinburgh on a temporary basis.
The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing fresh, nutritious meals for children while maintaining high standards of food hygiene, cleanliness and safety.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing and cooking nutritious meals and snacks for children
- Following menus and catering requirements
- Catering for dietary requirements and allergies
- Maintaining excellent food hygiene and cleanliness standards
- Managing food preparation and kitchen duties
- Monitoring stock and minimising food waste
- Following all health & safety and food hygiene procedures
- Working closely with nursery staff to provide a high-quality catering service
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a Nursery Chef, School Chef or similar catering role
- PVG membership required
- Food Hygiene Certificate desirable
- Knowledge of children's nutritional requirements
- Good understanding of allergies and dietary requirements
- Reliable, organised and able to work independently
- Enhanced child-related PVG required for the role
