How the training works:
- You’ll spend four days a week in school across the Burnley area, with Wednesdays set aside for online study and professional development.
- September – December: Observe lessons, team-teach alongside your mentor, and build your confidence in the classroom.
- January – March: Take the lead on planning and delivering lessons, and begin developing your assessment strategies.
- April – July: Teach independently, refine your classroom management, and complete your PGCE and QTS.
What you’ll need:
- A degree in Spanish, French, or a closely related Modern Foreign Language (2:1 or above preferred) — or strong A-level Spanish or French
- A genuine passion for languages and for teaching
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Burnley is well connected by road and rail — a driving licence is helpful but not essential.
