Graduate Speech and Language Teaching Assistant role offers invaluable experience across both mainstream secondary schools and specialist SEND provisions in Leeds.
The Role
We are recruiting Graduate Speech and Language Teaching Assistants to support students aged 11-16 with a range of Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN), both in mainstream secondary settings and specialist schools.
Working closely with SENCOs, teaching staff, pastoral teams, and external professionals, you will support students through:
- Small-group communication sessions
- Development of speech, language, and social communication skills
- Implementation of EHCP targets and personalised support plans
- Monitoring progress and contributing to student reviews
- Promoting confidence, independence, and inclusion throughout the school day
In specialist settings, you may also support students with:
This provides valuable experience working within multidisciplinary teams and alongside specialist professionals.

Who We're Looking For
- A degree in Speech and Language Therapy, Psychology, Education, Linguistics, Childhood Studies, or a related subject
