The Role
As a Graduate Science Learning Mentor, you'll work across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics to support GCSE and A-Level students who need a little extra help. You'll run small group interventions, deliver one-to-one mentoring, assist with practical lab work, and help students sharpen their exam technique and scientific thinking. This isn't a passive role β you'll be an active, valued member of the science department from day one.
What You'll Be Doing
- Delivering targeted support across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics
- Running small group and one-to-one sessions for GCSE and A-Level students
- Supporting practical experiments and laboratory work
- Helping students with revision strategies and exam preparation
- Developing students' scientific reasoning and problem-solving skills
- Collaborating closely with qualified science teachers to improve student outcomes
What We're Looking For
Essential:
- A 2:1 or above in a Science degree (Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or related)
- Solid subject knowledge across all three sciences
- Strong communication skills and a genuine enthusiasm for working with young people
- Motivation to pursue a career in science education
Desirable:
- Previous tutoring, mentoring, or classroom experience
- Familiarity with GCSE science curriculum
