A welcoming and inclusive secondary school in Lambeth is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Learning Support Assistant to support a student with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) on a 1:1 basis. This is an excellent opportunity for graduates who are considering careers in education, educational psychology, clinical psychology, speech and language therapy, social work, counselling, or other child-focused professions. Previous SEN experience is welcomed but not essential – the school is keen to hear from graduates with a genuine passion for supporting young people and a willingness to learn.
The Role
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a student with Autism
- Support the student's academic progress, wellbeing, and engagement in lessons
- Help implement personalised learning strategies and EHCP targets
- Encourage confidence, independence, and positive social interactions
- Work closely with teaching staff, the SENCO, and wider support teams
- Assist with emotional regulation and promote a positive learning environment
- Build a positive and trusting relationship with the student

Who We’re Looking For
- A degree in any subject (essential)
- A genuine interest in supporting young people and inclusive education
- Previous experience with children, young people, tutoring, mentoring, coaching, volunteering, or SEN is desirable but not essential
- Patient, empathetic, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- An interest in careers such as Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Teaching, Speech & Language Therapy, Social Work, or Youth Support
- Right to work in the UK (essential)
