The Role
- Support students facing social, emotional or behavioural challenges
- Deliver early intervention and pastoral mentoring
- Liaise with parents, carers and external agencies
- Monitor attendance and wellbeing trends
- Act as a trusted, visible presence across the school day
You’ll often be the person students turn to first — so resilience, empathy and sound judgement are essential.
About You
- Holds a degree (Psychology, Criminology, Social Sciences, Education or related fields particularly welcome)
- Has relevant experience working with young people (schools, youth work, mentoring, CAMHS, outreach, etc.)
- Understands safeguarding and professional boundaries
- Communicates with warmth but maintains authority
- Is considering a long-term career in education, pastoral leadership, social work or educational psychology
This role would suit a graduate looking to build meaningful experience in an Outstanding setting before progressing into teaching, counselling, educational psychology or safeguarding leadership.
