Job role: FLT Reach Truck Operative
Pay rate: £15.23/hr
Hours: 40 hours per week
Location: Normanton
Hours: 22:00 - 07:00, Sunday to Thursday or 04.00 - 13.00 Tuesday to Saturday
First Choice are seeking motivated and detail-oriented FLT (Forklift Truck ) Operators with experience on Reach machines on behalf of our client, a long established delivery and storage company. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a similar role. You will operate forklifts and other material handling equipment to efficiently move, load, and unload goods within the warehouse environment. Your expertise will ensure smooth inventory flow, accurate shipping and receiving processes, and safe handling of materials.
Duties
- Safely operate forklift trucks and other warehouse equipment to load, unload, and transport materials throughout the facility
- Manual handling, heavy lifting and unloading trailers and then using the truck
- Assist with shipping and receiving tasks, verifying shipments against purchase orders and delivery documents
- Perform routine equipment inspections, maintenance checks, and minor repairs to ensure optimal operation
- Handle materials with care, including heavy lifting and precise placement of goods in designated storage areas
- Support warehouse organisation by stacking, sorting, and storing products efficiently
- Collaborate with team members to meet daily operational goals and maintain a safe working environment
Qualifications
- Valid FLT Reach Truck Licence D2
- Proven experience operating forklifts in a warehouse or distribution center setting
- Good physical stamina for heavy lifting, standing, walking, and repetitive tasks over extended periods
- Knowledge of shipping & receiving processes to ensure accurate processing of inbound and outbound goods
Licence/Certification:
- Reach Truck Licence - any recognised UK provider (required)
