A well-established manufacturing business based in Blackburn is seeking an experienced Production Planner to join their team. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient coordination of production activities, enabling the business to meet customer demand while maintaining high standards of quality, food safety, and cost control. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing production schedules, aligning materials with demand, and driving continuous improvements within a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and manage daily and weekly production plans to meet customer demand and achieve OTIF targets
- Review sales forecasts and order data to establish accurate planning parameters
- Ensure material availability aligns with production schedules and agreed supplier lead times
- Maintain accurate stock levels for both raw materials and finished goods
- Work collaboratively with production, purchasing, and warehouse teams to ensure seamless operations
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators, including service levels, waste, and efficiency
- Identify potential risks to production plans and implement proactive solutions
- Ensure all planning activities comply with food safety, quality, and regulatory standards
- Maintain and update data within ERP systems
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce operational waste
- Provide cover for other planning and scheduling functions when required
- Participate in daily production meetings and communicate plans, updates, and performance metrics
