Quality Control (QC) Assistant (Part-Time)
Location: Crewe
Hours: Part-time - 10:00am to 2:00pm, 3 days per week (12 hours per week)
Pay: £12.71 per hour
The Opportunity
Our client is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Quality Control (QC) Assistant to join their Quality team on a part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a chemistry background and practical laboratory experience who enjoys working in a hands-on environment and takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work.
The successful candidate will support routine quality control activities, ensuring products meet the required specifications while maintaining accurate records and adhering to laboratory and company procedures.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out routine quality control testing and inspections.
- Prepare, handle and test chemical samples in line with established laboratory procedures.
- Accurately record test results and maintain laboratory documentation.
- Ensure all testing is completed within required timescales.
- Assist with investigating quality-related issues when required.
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe laboratory environment.
- Comply with all health, safety and quality standards.
- Work independently while supporting the wider Quality and Production teams.
Skills & Experience
Essential
- Qualification in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline (A Level, BTEC, HNC/HND or equivalent).
- Practical laboratory experience.
- Basic knowledge of chemical handling and laboratory safety.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
- Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
Desirable
- Previous experience within a Quality Control or laboratory environment.
- Understanding of quality systems and laboratory procedures.
- Experience working within a manufacturing or chemical environment.
