KPI Recruiting are on the look out for a Machine Operator/ Slitter for our client based in Crewe.
The hours and days for a Machine Operator/ Slitter are:
- Monday- Friday
- 06:00- 14:00/ 14:00- 22:00 (rotating)
The rate of pay as a Machine Operator/ Slitter are:
- Β£12.71- Β£15.06 p/h
The duties and responsibilities as a Machine Operator/ Slitter are:
- Operating and monitoring production machinery/slitting equipment safely and efficiently
- Setting up machinery and ensuring it is ready for production
- Developing an understanding of how the machinery operates and identifying any issues
- Carrying out required machine and safety checks before and during operation
- Following established company procedures, production requirements and health & safety rules
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Completing production paperwork and production sheets accurately
- Working to production targets and maintaining a high standard of quality
- Reporting any machine faults, quality issues or safety concerns promptly
- Working independently as well as effectively as part of a team
- Supporting other members of the production team when required
The ideal candidate for a Machine Operator/ Slitter would require:
- Previous experience as a Machine Operator / Slitter is preferred
- An understanding of machinery and how it operates
- The ability to set up machinery ready for use
- Experience working in a fast-paced production, manufacturing or factory environment
- Strong attention to detail
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Good time management and organisational skills
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Good physical coordination and manual dexterity
- The ability to remain in physically demanding positions for extended periods
- The physical fitness required for regular lifting and manual handling
- The ability to remain calm and work effectively under pressure
- A strong commitment to workplace health and safety
- The ability to follow established rules, procedures and safe working practices
- Basic IT skills and the ability to accurately complete production records and paperwork
- Reliable and punctual
- Hardworking and willing to learn
- Safety-conscious
- Comfortable working in a busy production environment
- Physically capable of carrying out the requirements of the role
- Able to work at pace while maintaining accuracy and quality
- A good team player who can also work independently
- Calm and professional when working under pressure
