About You

To be considered for this role, you will:

  • Hold HLTA status or have significant experience working at HLTA level
  • Hold a 2:1 degree or above (or be predicted to achieve this)
  • Have strong classroom experience within a school
  • Demonstrate excellent behaviour management and classroom leadership skills
  • Have a good understanding of the National Curriculum
  • Be confident adapting learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including those with SEND
  • Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Be proactive, organised, and adaptable in your approach
  • Have a genuine passion for helping children achieve their full potential
  • Have the right to work in the UK

The Role

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA), you will work closely with class teachers, senior leaders, and support staff to deliver high‑quality learning experiences and help pupils reach their full academic, social, and emotional potential. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering planned lessons across the curriculum during teacher release time and staff absence
  • Supporting teaching and learning across a range of year groups
  • Leading small‑group interventions in literacy, numeracy, and other curriculum areas
  • Providing tailored 1:1 support for pupils with additional learning needs
  • Supporting children with SEND and helping to remove barriers to learning
  • Monitoring pupil progress and providing constructive feedback to teaching staff
  • Promoting positive behaviour and creating an engaging classroom environment
  • Assisting with lesson preparation, classroom organisation, and assessment activities
  • Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents, and external professionals
