This is an ideal opportunity for graduates considering careers in Educational Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Teaching, Counselling, CAMHS, Youth Work, or wider mental health and wellbeing services.

What's on Offer?

  • Full-time, term-time only role, Monday to Friday
  • Hands-on experience across a wide age range in real educational environments
  • Comprehensive training, mentoring, and ongoing support
  • Excellent preparation for careers in education, psychology, and therapeutic services
  • Opportunities to develop specialist SEND, SEMH, and behaviour support skills

The Role

This isn't a passive role. You'll be fully involved in school life, working one-to-one and with small groups to support pupils with behavioural, emotional, social, and additional learning needs.

Working alongside teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral teams, you'll help deliver tailored interventions and support strategies while drawing directly upon your Psychology knowledge to help young people regulate emotions, build resilience, develop confidence, and engage positively with their learning.

No two days are the same, making this a highly rewarding role for graduates looking to gain meaningful experience before progressing into further training or postgraduate study.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small-group support for pupils
  • Support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs
  • Assist pupils with behavioural and learning challenges
  • Promote positive behaviour, engagement, and attendance
  • Help students develop emotional regulation and coping strategies
  • Support pupils with SEND, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC) and ADHD
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, SENCOs, and pastoral staff
  • Monitor progress and contribute to support plans and interventions
  • Build positive and trusting relationships with young people
  • Act as a positive role model within the school community

Who We're Looking For

  • A 2:1 degree or above in Psychology
  • A genuine enthusiasm for working with children and young people
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Empathy, patience, and resilience
  • Confidence to take initiative in a busy school environment
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Experience working with children or young people
  • Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
  • TeamTeach qualification (current or lapsed considered)
  • Mentoring, coaching, tutoring, care, youth work, or behavioural support experience
  • Knowledge of SEMH, ADHD, autism, or trauma-informed practice

Why This Role?

For the right graduate, this is more than a job. It's a launchpad into a rewarding long-term career.

Whether you're considering:

  • Mental Health and Wellbeing Services

the experience you'll gain here is the kind that no university textbook can replicate.
