Location: Stoke-on-Trent, Meir

Hours: 6am to 6pm, Temporary position

Payrate: £13.26 per hour

The role: We are currently recruiting for an organised and reliable Ad-Hoc Transport Administrator to provide temporary holiday cover support at our Meir site. This is a great opportunity for someone with strong administrative skills who enjoys working in a fast-paced transport environment. You will support the smooth running of daily transport operations by coordinating information, maintaining accurate records, and acting as a key point of contact for drivers and internal teams.

Main Duties:

  • Provide administrative support to the transport department during holiday cover periods
  • Assist with the planning and coordination of daily transport schedules
  • Update and maintain accurate transport records, paperwork, and documentation
  • Monitor driver schedules and support with resource allocation
  • Communicate with drivers regarding routes, deliveries, collections, and any changes
  • Liaise with internal departments to ensure smooth transport operations
  • Respond to queries and resolve issues quickly and professionally
  • Track vehicle movements and elevate any operational concerns
  • Ensure transport procedures, company policies, and health & safety standards are followed
  • Support the wider transport team with general administration duties

About you:

  • Previous administration experience (transport/logistics experience desirable but not essential)
  • Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work confidently in a busy, fast-paced environment
  • Good communication skills with the ability to liaise with drivers and colleagues
  • Comfortable using computer systems and Microsoft Office
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and remain calm under pressure
  • A proactive and reliable approach to work
