The Role
The successful candidate will lead and manage the provision for students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) across the secondary phase, ensuring all pupils receive the support and challenge required to thrive academically and personally.
- Leading the strategic development of SEND provision across the school
- Coordinating EHCPs, intervention strategies, and learning support plans
- Working closely with teaching staff, parents, external agencies, and senior leadership
- Supporting inclusive teaching practices and staff training
- Monitoring student progress and maintaining high standards of pastoral care
Essential Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria to be considered:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised UK teaching qualification
- National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO qualification) – mandatory
- Proven SENCO experience within a UK secondary school setting
- Strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
- Full Right to Work (RTW) in the UK
